A home base for Round-Up week

The Pendleton Round-Up has been drawing crowds since 1910, and the whole town joins in: rodeo in the afternoons, the Happy Canyon Night Show in the evenings, parades, music and a downtown that stays busy all week. After a long day in the stands, it helps to have a quiet, clean room waiting close by.

Pendleton Inn and Suites is an independently owned motel on Southwest Tutuilla Creek Road, on the south side of town near I-84. Our rooms sleep from two up to six guests, so solo travelers, couples, families and whole crews can all find a fit. Every room is non-smoking, Wi-Fi is free, and parking is right outside. Getting to the Round-Up Grounds

The Round-Up Grounds are on Southwest Court Avenue, west of downtown, with the Happy Canyon Arena alongside. From our front door it is about a mile by road, usually just a few minutes by car. During Round-Up week the streets near the grounds get crowded around show times, so give yourself extra time and plan your parking before you head out.

  • Round-Up Grounds: 1205 SW Court Ave, Pendleton
  • Happy Canyon Arena: 1601 Westgate, Pendleton
  • Round-Up & Happy Canyon Hall of Fame: 1114 SW Court Ave
  • Round-Up ticket office and gift shop: 1330 SW Court Ave

Tickets, schedules and event-week parking are handled by the Round-Up itself. Check the official Pendleton Round-Up website for the latest details before you go.

Happy Canyon, parades & the rhythm of the week

The Round-Up is more than a rodeo. The Happy Canyon Night Show, an evening pageant first staged in 1916, was named Oregon’s official outdoor pageant and Wild West show in 2013, and it plays at the Happy Canyon Arena on the evenings of Round-Up week.

Two parades bring the celebration downtown. The Main Street Cowboys Dress-up Parade rolls on the Saturday before Round-Up, and the Westward Ho! Parade takes place on the Friday of Round-Up week. According to the Round-Up, both usually start at 10 a.m. Between events, the Round-Up & Happy Canyon Hall of Fame tells more than a century of rodeo and pageant history. Why booking early matters

Round-Up week is the busiest stretch of the year in Pendleton, and rooms across town are often reserved well in advance. If you already know you’re coming, our best advice is simple: book as soon as your dates are set.

  • Reservations can be made up to one year in advance, subject to availability.
  • When you book direct through our secure Mews reservation page, you deal with us, not a third party, and you can call our front desk if your plans change.
  • Cancellation windows may differ during holidays and special events. Senior, military, corporate and promotional discounts can’t be applied during special-event periods. Your confirmation shows the exact terms for your stay.
  • Bringing a crew? Reservations of 10 or more rooms are group bookings with their own deposit terms. Call the front desk to set one up. See our guest policies for details.

Other Pendleton events worth the trip

September isn’t the only busy time in town. The Round-Up Grounds host the Pendleton Whisky Music Fest in July, and the Jackalope Jamboree music festival comes to the Happy Canyon Arena in late June. Dates change every year, so check the official event sites first. Then book your room early, because these weekends fill up too.
